We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Junior Sommelier to join this Michelin starred restaurant team.
 
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of wines and beverages, coupled with a commitment to providing exceptional service.

  • Location: Muse, 38 Groom Place, SW1X 7BA
  • Salary: £32,000-£36,000 per annum, based on experience
Overview
As a Junior Sommelier, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience by expertly pairing wines with food and guiding guests through an extensive wine list.
 
Duties
  • Provide expert recommendations to guests regarding wine pairings with their meals.
  • Conduct regular tastings to stay informed about new wines and trends in the industry.
  • Assist in the training of team members on wine knowledge, service techniques, and food pairing principles.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of wines to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to highlight wine pairings.
  • Engage with guests to enhance their dining experience through personalised service and knowledge sharing.
 
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of wines, including regions, varietals, and tasting notes.
  • WSET level 2 advantageous but not essential.
  • Understanding of food preparation and an understanding of food safety standards.
  • Background in bartending or catering is advantageous for enhancing beverage service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality and guest engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • A passion for continuous learning about wines and the culinary arts is essential.
