Bookkeeper / Accounts Controller:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions for a well-established, fast-growing company who have been operating in Bolton for more than 15 years.
 
General Details:

  • Contract: Employed / Permanent / Part-time
  • Hours: 16-20 hours per week over 3-5 days to suit
  • Location: Fully office based, Bolton (must be based locally)
  • Salary: £15-£16 per hour (circa £30k pro-rata) – based on qualifications and experience.

Job Overview:


This all-round bookkeeping role involves managing purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll, month-end reporting and HMRC submissions.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping for small businesses, have high attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of financial records. Excellent communication skills to confidently liaise (verbally and in writing) with clients and suppliers is also required.
 

Main responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update financial records for group companies using Sage 50 accounting software.
  • Bank account reconciliation.
  • Managing accounts receivable, payable and credit control.
  • Working with company executives to produce monthly management information.
  • Working with the company's accountants on payroll, VAT, Corporation tax and year end accounts.
 
Experience and qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar, preferably in a small business environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Sage 50) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
