Are you an experienced joiner with some supervisory or team leadership experience who enjoys keeping production moving, maintaining high standards and helping a team work effectively?

We are recruiting for a Paint & Final Assembly Team Leader to join a long-established and growing specialist manufacturer of bespoke timber windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries in Queensbury, Bradford.

This is a hands-on role where you will oversee the day-to-day running of the paint and final assembly department, ensuring products move through each stage efficiently, deadlines are achieved and quality standards are maintained.

It could be an excellent next step for an experienced Bench Joiner who already has some leadership or supervisory experience and is looking to take on greater responsibility within a workshop environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As Paint & Final Assembly Team Leader, you'll be responsible for coordinating workflow across the paint and final assembly areas while supporting and leading a small team.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the paint and final assembly department.
  • Planning and coordinating workflow to ensure jobs progress efficiently.
  • Monitoring production schedules and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Identifying potential bottlenecks, delays or material shortages and taking action to resolve them.
  • Ensuring windows, doors and frames are assembled, glazed and fitted with ironmongery correctly.
  • Maintaining high standards of finish, accuracy and consistency.
  • Holding daily progress meetings with the team.
  • Communicating any issues affecting quality or production timescales to management.
  • Supporting and mentoring team members.
  • Developing, updating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety and quality.
  • Helping to maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

What We're Looking For

This role requires someone who understands the practical side of joinery production and can combine this with strong organisational and people skills.

You will ideally have:
  • Experience in bench joinery, glazing and fitting ironmongery.
  • A good understanding of timber window and door manufacturing.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory or team-leading experience.
  • The ability to plan, organise and manage several jobs at the same time.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach.
  • The confidence to identify issues and take action to keep production on track.

What's on Offer
  • Salary of £31,500 - £33,000, dependent on experience.
  • 39-hour working week.
  • Early finish on Fridays.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Supportive team environment.
  • Uniform provided.
  • Company events.
  • The opportunity to have a genuine input into workshop processes and improvements.
  • The stability of joining a long-established, growing business with an excellent reputation for quality craftsmanship.
If you have a strong background in joinery and are ready to combine your practical knowledge with responsibility for leading a team and managing production workflow, we'd like to hear from you.
