Mentally preparing yourself for a job interview is crucial if you want to put your best foot forward on the day. How you communicate and work under pressure will be highlighted, so don’t let nerves get the better of you with these top 5 tips.
1. Sit still for at least 10 minutes. Clear your head either by listening to music or watching the traffic go by.
2. Mentally say to yourself ‘I can do this job’
3. Re –affirm your best attributes; organisational skills, leadership, team work
4. Think positive
5. Let go. Realise that this is one day out of your life and put the situation into perspective.
If you still feel like your heart is racing, take a deep breath and another 10 minutes to clear your mind and focus on being in the moment.
