Employment on the up

Posted in Candidates, Employers on Sep 12, 2012 by Richard Hayden

It has been revealed that the number of unemployed dropped by a staggering 7,000 in the three months from May to July of this year. Positive signs for the UK employment market continued as the Office for National Statistics announced that the number of Job Seekers Allowance claimants fell by 15,000 in August, the largest drop in claimants since June 2010. Followed by an increase of 134,000 thousand people now in part time work.

George Buckley, an economist at Deutsche Bank offered further encouragement saying that previous increases in employment of this size had heralded recovery, adding "it is a very exceptionally strong report".
